Lichfield Community Drum Circle
Last Sunday of the month 2 - 4 pm
Lichfield Drum Circle is a fantastically fun drum and percussion experience combining easy beats and rhythms with movement and meditation. Suitable for all ages (children must be with a parent or guardian) and all abilities from complete beginners to musical maestros. There are instruments provided, or you can bring your own. We have all sorts of drums and instruments from African djembes and DunDuns, to bongos, Cajons, frames, hang, rattles, and all manner of shaky, rattly, noisy things! We begin each session with some easy movements to stretch, warm up, and get the body in the right condition for drumming, and we have a break mid way for tea and biscuits (soy milk provided) and the latest gossip 🙂 There is even a lovely garden to use when the weather is nice.
The circle is facilitated which means we'll be there to make sure every session keeps grooving, but there are no leaders, and no teaching as such, everyone has a part to play in this 'conversation'. You don't need any experience at all, in no time you'll be exploring your creativity and making music in an open and encouraging environment.Drumming is a great way to beat stress, boost the immune system, lower blood pressure, and MAKE FRIENDS!No need to book, just come along and bring your friends 🙂
Cost: £2 or donations welcome.
